For a North American start-up, Technix recently supplied several 20kV – 3kW DC power supplies for an innovative water recovery demonstrator.
The system is designed to capture evaporated water from the air using electrostatic fields. High voltage is used to ionize water particles, making it possible to condense and recover them efficiently.
This approach offers several advantages compared to traditional systems:
• No mechanical parts involved in the extraction process
• Improved reliability and reduced maintenance
• A simpler and more robust overall system
This type of solution is particularly relevant for industrial sites where large amounts of water vapor are released. Recovering this water helps reduce the need for environmental water extraction and limits the local impact.
