Electron gun systems require high-voltage and multiple low-voltage power supplies isolated at the cathode voltage, working together with exceptional precision. To meet these requirements, Technix developed a fully custom multi-output power supply for an Asian manufacturer specializing in electron gun technology.
The system integrates several dedicated power supplies into a single solution:
• Cathode power supply: 60kV – 40kW
• Filament power supply: 20V – 15A (isolated at 60kV)
• Bombardment power supply: 2.5kV – 100mA (isolated at 60kV)
• Auxiliary power supplies (all isolated at 60kV): +15V – 0.5A, -15V – 0.5A, +9V – 6A, +150V – 100mA, -100V – 30mA
A key feature of this system is the set of auxiliary power supplies, which are used to precisely control the electron beam, enabling greater beam penetration.
For more than 12 years, this customer has continued to rely on Technix for the production of these highly specialized power systems. ⚡
This long-term collaboration reflects our ability to design custom high-voltage solutions tailored to the most demanding industrial applications.

The development of new electric propulsion systems is opening exciting possibilities for future orbital transportation.
One of our customers, a french start-up working on advanced electric propulsion technologies, selected Technix power supplies to support the testing of their prototypes. Their approach combines concepts already used in fields such as particle accelerators and ion sources to explore innovative propulsion solutions for space applications.
To support their test campaigns, Technix supplied:
• 2 × 1kV – 2kW DC power supplies
• 2 × 5kV – 40kW DC power supplies
A key feature of these units is their floating high-voltage outputs, providing maximum flexibility during testing:
• Easy polarity reversal
• Isolated current return paths
• Simplified integration of measurement equipment
• Support for a wide range of experimental configurations
In research and development environments, flexibility is often just as important as performance.
Our ability to deliver these systems within a short timeframe, combined with our responsiveness throughout the project, played a key role in supporting the customer’s development program.
Another example of how high-voltage power supplies contribute to the technologies shaping tomorrow’s space industry.

More than 20 years ago, a leading European plasma physics research laboratory selected Technix to replace legacy high-voltage power supplies from another manufacturer.
To ensure a seamless integration into the existing installation, Technix developed several 50kV – 20kW negative DC power supplies specifically designed to meet the laboratory’s requirements, including:
• Control interfaces and functions fully compatible with the existing control system
• Positive output isolated from ground up to 2kV
• High-voltage output cable compatible with the existing infrastructure
As part of an expansion project, they have chosen to order additional power supplies compatible with the existing setup, allowing them to increase their capabilities while maintaining continuity across the installation.
This project is a great example of the importance of long-term reliability, backward compatibility, and technical collaboration in demanding research environments. ⚡

For a North American start-up, Technix recently supplied several 20kV – 3kW DC power supplies for an innovative water recovery demonstrator.
The system is designed to capture evaporated water from the air using electrostatic fields. High voltage is used to ionize water particles, making it possible to condense and recover them efficiently.
This approach offers several advantages compared to traditional systems:
• No mechanical parts involved in the extraction process
• Improved reliability and reduced maintenance
• A simpler and more robust overall system
This type of solution is particularly relevant for industrial sites where large amounts of water vapor are released. Recovering this water helps reduce the need for environmental water extraction and limits the local impact.
Technix was selected not only for the performance of its power supplies, but also for the technical support provided throughout the project, from defining the right solution to configuration and responsiveness during key phases.
A great example of how high-voltage technology can support innovative and more sustainable applications.

In large research facilities such as synchrotrons, generating pulses for advanced experiments requires reliable and high-energy charging systems.
Back in 2014, Technix developed 50kV – 10kJ capacitor chargers for a major European synchrotron, also used as a neutron and muon source.
These chargers are designed to operate at high voltage with continuous repetition rates above 10 Hz, delivering 10kJ/s charging power, all within a compact format. They are used to charge Pulse Forming Networks (PFN).
Key requirements for this application include:
• High voltage operation (50kV)
• Continuous operation at >10 Hz
• Stable and repeatable charging performance
• Robustness and long-term reliability
• Custom interfaces compatible with existing control and safety systems
More than 10 years after installation, these systems are still operating reliably.
Based on this performance, Technix has recently been selected to supply two additional chargers, to extend the facility’s capabilities while ensuring full compatibility with the existing setup.
This is a great example of long-term reliability on a highly specific and demanding application. 💡

Subsea environments place extreme demands on electrical systems. High-voltage power supplies play a key role in two main applications:
🔌 𝐒𝐮𝐛𝐬𝐞𝐚 𝐜𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠
High voltage (typically 30 to 50kV) is injected to measure leakage current and verify cable isolation.
→ With our zero-floating option, users can directly measure output current with high precision — without floating the equipment under test.
Technix also supports customers in defining the most accurate and adapted solution for their specific setup.
🌐 𝐏𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐮𝐛𝐬𝐞𝐚 𝐟𝐢𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬
Modern installations rely on HV lines (typically 5 to 10kV, with currents of a few amps) to power repeaters in series over long distances.
→ Installed offshore, the power system must be highly reliable and easy to integrate.
Our solutions are ideally suited for Power Feed Equipment (PFE) applications, offering:
• Proven robustness in demanding environments
• Flexible control interfaces
• Seamless integration with various control systems
These are mission-critical applications where performance alone is not enough — customers also rely on strong technical support and long-term partnership. Technix combines both. 🤝
